The mostly aptly named band in the history of rock music. Eric Clapton playing alongside two other guys who could each be known as the "Eric Clapton" of his own particular instrument. Say what you will about Jack Bruce, when he's on (on both bass AND vocals) he is almost without peer. To me, this is his signature piece and the highlight of this reunion, and this reunion, the best of all reunions...

Aged Cream is even better than Fresh Cream.

Chico Hamilton's "Blue Sands" inspired this.

@u000drl That's very kind of you. I'll accept it for those of us (many my friends) who didn't come home. It was a great time for music also, wasn't it?

Anyone know guitar tuning?
3 old farts making music that blows away the music being made by 99% of today's bands.

remember the night I had this new Disreali Gears Cream album playing, lying on the bed waiting for Sunshine of your love--when this haunting song came on- I kept replaying it as though it were speaking to me--a defining moment--i knew the life I was living was "wrong"

@u000drl - congrats for becoming aware of beating down the wrong path, then hopefully choosing the correct one, or at least a better one. I had a similar experience w/ Queen's "Show must go on" following the awakening of some old injuries. At times, the right tune can serve as a whack between the eyes and sober reminder often, of intimate aspects of our lives we simply grow to ignore, or they grow on us.

I love your post- that's what great music like this does to me also. Haunting, penetrating, purifying and clarifying all in one rush as the soung builds. It's so hard to explain to those who don't feel it that way. It always helps me make decisions clearly, and energizes me to pursue.. Stuff like this got me through Viet Nam.......
Tales of Brave Ulysses effects me this way, also,

@Tuscan002 - here, here !!!! Seconding u0000drl !!!! I was right behind you. Still have the draft card among my "important" papers ... Squeaky joints would have me disqualified at this point ... As for music, certainly magical period. 60-73/74 .... Perhaps the pinnacle of what begun as the big band and jazz in the 40s-50s (some serious raw & undeniable talent). 60's-70s was the icing on the cake, followed by ... indigestion .... straight into the (c)rap(per) ....Peace!!!
