This film has been selected for 'Byron All Shorts' film competition, to be presented by 18th FLiCKERFEST International Short Film Festival January 09!
It was created for a part of my 'online' exhibition which I entitled '美: BI: BEAUTY' last year.
This performance with my collages, in which I play a mysterious classical Japanese beauty who interacts with the work to create a beauty shrine in an old Japanese tea-house in a bamboo forest garden, aims to investigate and explore a fascination with idealised, yet ambiguous notions, around beauty in our society. It plays with the at times absurdity and emptiness of these ideals, which as a phenomena of Western and Western-influenced societies, is today inescapable.
