Sorry, ran out of room - the acidosis comes from. Just to fill you in lactate actually accepts the H+ which in turn makes the body less acidotic. When you run analysis on "lactic acid" what you are actually measuring is lactate, what accompanies an increase in lactate is and increase in H+, which is assumed to be "lactic acid". Just because one goes up does not mean it is caused by the other. Yes, the body does increase acidosis, is it from "lactic acid", NO.

@theyouuser- You are correct........ or at least you were correct 10yrs ago. Do to advancements in science and research we now know that that proposed mechanism is inaccurate. As stated pyuravte can be converted to lactate not lactic acid and transported to different cells and tissues in the body by way of MCT I & II as a source of fuel. Dr. Robergs out of UNM published a great peer-reviewed article on metabolic acidosis, the history of "lactic acid", where the term came from described where th

lactic acid is a by product of all movement but is not accumulated below the AT, once above the LT, LA accumulates and hinders the sliding filament mechanism pain receptors pretty much everywhere in the bodyour body's warning sign muscle has its fair share and the burning not actually burning but it feels like it and itsthe PH levels in the blood, receptors in the vessels within the muscle called capillaries recognise this and signal sent which is interpreted by the brain as a burning sensation

@clownsarecool1- sorry to tell you but your explaination about "lactic acid" is wrong. Look up Dr. George Brooks at UC Berkley, the foremost expert in lactate NOT "lactic acid" production. He has done all most all the research on lactate... Just to fill every1 in, the human body DOES NOT produce LACTIC ACID. Pyruvate is actually converted to Lactate by LDH. Once converted to lactate can be transported to different cells or even organs to be used as feul source.

lactate does not cause your muscle to "burn".... no pain receptors in the muscle equals no "buring sensation"... sorry

Lactate what your body makes when its working to fast to consume oxygen. It's also what makes your muscles burn. the threshold is normal compared to a heart bpm or wattage output.

Lactate?
