Prof. Werner Menski Professor of Law, SOAS.
Four tips from the Professor who knows:
1. Recruiters are trained to spot fibbers from those that can actually do what they say. Do not bend the truth on your application or at interviews.
2. Law firms prefer those who have studied a language, Mandarin or Hindi may take you far.
3. Prior to your application, know what the firm looks for, and what you envisage your role to be.
4. Apply for summer internships. Do not be fooled into thinking that first year marks are not considered. They do matter!
