I haven't watched the movie yet, but I've been listening to the OST of the movie for YEARS and I still get touched everytime I listen to it...This movie should also be amazing, and I look forward to watch it sometime. :'D

i haven't seen this movie, i was only 4 and 5 yrs old when it was out. but it is recommended for the Taiwanese history class I'm taking now. if people really want to understand the backgrounds of 228, there are lots of documents written in Chinese, but if you are interested in to see the roles of Japan, China and U.S.A. during that period of time, you can read Formosa Betrayed by George Kerr so people probably wouldn't make a comment like the one below mine
