The "A³-EPFL Chapter in Tokyo" and the "University of Lausanne and Japan Network" were officially launched at a reception hosted by Swiss Ambassador Paul Fivat. The more than 60 guests, most with connections to EPFL or the University of Lausanne, if not both, attended the event. Many complemented that the gathering was not only pleasant but also productive for making new contacts as well as being reunited with old acquaintances. The two chairs of the newly inaugurated organizations, Mr. Stephane Essade for EPFL and Mr. Jean-Marc Good for the University of Lausanne, each gave a speech following the Ambassadors' introduction. Dr. Hiroshi Tomono, President of Sumitomo Metal Industries gave the toast.
