Alright so I decided to record the process on how I make lasagna, a lot of people think that cooking lasagna is hard. Well it really isn't. I've also included the recipe below. Enjoy and happy cooking.
Ingredients
1LB Extra Lean Beef (less fat)
1 1/2 LBS Mozerella Cheese (or mix it up)
1 Large Tomato
1 Large Onion
1 Large Green Bell Pepper
5-6 Cloves of Garlic
1 teaspoon of Salt
1 tablespoon of pepper
180 grams of spinach
4-5 cups of cottage cheese
2 tablespoons of chili powder (hot)
2 tablespoons of mixed Italian Herbs
3 tablespoons of cooking oil ( i use canola oil)
Catelli Ready to cook noodles, 2 box's 300+ gram.
1 20" x 12" x 4" lasagna pan
Pour oil in pan and heat to water like consistency. Turn to medium heat.
Add in beef and do not brown but cook fully.
Chop up onion, green pepper, garlic, tomato, put all in bowl, add seasoning to mixture and add to beef once beef is cooked. Mix thoroughly.
Cover and let simmer and med low heat for 20 mins to cook down the veggies. Stir occasionally (once or twice).
Uncover pan and let excess liquids boil off.
While that is going on, cut up spinach and combine with cottage cheese.
After most of the liquids have boiled off, add pasta sauce and mix thoroughly.
Layering:
use some pasta sauce to coat the bottom and sides of the pan for the noodles so they don't burn.
Layer like this -
sauce (on pan)
Noodles to cover bottom of pan.
Sauce
cheese
noodles
sauce
spinach / cottage cheese mix
noodles
sauce
cheese (remaining amount of cheese)
Pretty simple.
Cover with tin foil (shiny side to lasagna)
Preheat oven to 350 F
Cook for 2 1/2 hours
Take out Lasagna and uncover, let sit for 10-15 mins to set and cool.
Best served with caesar salad and garlic bread.
Enjoy!
Ya, imagine that a fat guy knows how to cook.
