And yes, you're right that many Lebanese don't like Palestinians, but it's not backwardness or racism. It's because of the role that the Palestinians played in the ruin of our country. Yes, I know, you can deny and argue all you like, and you can say the Lebanese system is screwed up internally, and that we agreed to the Cairo Agreement, but the fact remains that the Palestinians did grave wrongs to Lebanon, specifically Abu Ammar and his PLO.
Any hatred they experience is a result of this.

Dear Wasim,
I too care for her music not her identity, and would like her wherever she was from, but the fact that she is Lebanese makes me very proud obviously. Just as Egyptians are proud of Um Kulthum or Italians are proud of Pavarotti. Great artists are a source of national pride, and with good reason.

Why are you so proud of her being Christian or Lebanese? If she's Muslim, Jewish or Sudanese, you wouldn't love her? I don't care about her religion or nationality, I care about her music.
It's no strange we Arabs are very backward.
We Arabs hate each other, for example I'm Palestinian and I'm sure Lebanese people here would't like me just coz I'm Palestinian. I've been through many situations where Lebanese people would change their whole attitude towards me when they know I'm Palestinian.

and she is very famous in the arab world and in Lebanon she is a national symbol like the Lebanese Cedar
