Cruise Ship Costa Concordia - Maiden Voyage

Costa Concordia is a Concordia-class cruise ship owned and operated by Costa Cruises. She was built at Fincantieri's Sestri Ponente yards in Italy. The name Concordia was intended to express the wish for continuing harmony, unity and peace between European nations.
She is the namesake of the Concordia class, with sisters Costa Serena, Carnival Splendor—which was built for Carnival Cruise Lines—Costa Pacifica, Costa Favolosa, and Costa Fascinosa. Costa Concordia entered service in July 2006 and was the largest ship to be built in Italy, at 114,500 tons.
The ship came to international attention in January 2012 when she ran aground off Isola del Giglio, Italy, resulting in the evacuation of over 4,000 people on board.

La Costa Concordia è una nave da crociera della compagnia genovese Costa Crociere ed e' stata costruita dai cantieri navali della Fincantieri di Genova Sestri Ponente.
Il nome Concordia fa riferimento all'unità e alla pace fra le nazioni europee. I suoi tredici ponti hanno i nomi di altrettanti stati europei (Olanda, Svezia, Belgio, Grecia, Italia, Gran Bretagna, Irlanda, Portogallo, Francia, Germania, Spagna, Austria e Polonia).

Laev ristiti 7. juulil 2006 Civitavecchias (Rooma sadam) Itaalias ja ristiemaks sai Tšehhi kaunitar ja supermodell Eva Herzigová. Laeva kodusadam on Genua. Ristluslaeva sõsarlaevad on Carnival Splendour, Costa Pacifica, Costa Favolosa, Costa Fascinosa ja Costa Serena.

O Costa Concordia foi um navio transatlântico, destinado a cruzeiros operado pela companhia italiana "Costa Crociere S.p.A.
