Sony Dash at CES 2010

This was probably one of the most interesting announcements at the Sony CES press conference. Buy it at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00375MPA8?tag=archosfcom-20&camp=0&creativ... It has a pretty nice 7" capacitative touch screen, USB host and $199 is an okay price! I'd really like clever USB accessories such as somehow a detector in a pillow and have the Dash wake you up at the end of your sleep cycles instead of in the middle, wake you up with the most relevant informations from your email, IM, social networks, RSS feeds and using videos from Youtube or music from Last.fm or Pandora.

Gosh i hate to say this, but I would buy an apple ipad before I buy this. and the thing is I don't want an ipad much less this.

Hell, the HTC EVO is going to do all that. Why even bother.

As a general question what use is constantly being able to reorientate the screen. If there is ANY feature being well overdone in MANY gadgets its accelerometers and apps.

Both ideas came into mainstream standards AFTER the iPhone and iPod Touch.

I really dont think adding accelerometers into everything makes more people buy these things.

The Sony dash cameout like yesturday or early this week.. I'm seriously considering buying this since my alarmclock is 15 years old and I could really use this for a better Alarm clock.. Shit I it beats a loud noise blaring at 100%. Compared to an app I might be able to buy that would slowly get louder and louder and wake me up which insense is better for the body anyways..
