My cover of "ground on down" live version. I'm still working on it!

It's one of the song which gave me desire to begin playing lapsteel (like many lapsteel players, I guess!)

Ben Harper is one of the artist which help me to understand lapsteel playing (no teacher in my area)

As always, this could seems repetitive whitout singing!

"Open C" CGCCGC

Sorry for the "buzz" (I mean background sound)

  • Duuuude!

this is incredible, you really do it justice.

Like, what model is this guitar?

i've been looking for them everywhere

and this seems just the job!

thanks man, and keep it up x

  • Thanks Rock !

If you're interested by this sort of lapsteel, see at : thomann . (It's a secure deutch site). You can buy the same for 88 € !

    See and enjoy !

  • last question hah. what are you playing during the part that starts at 3:34, thats the only part of the song that i cant figure out by ear.

  • I think it's easier to understand this part by earing the classic album version... but i've adapted it from the live to mars version which is a bit different... (few more notes...)

Anyway, during this part I'm just playing on bass chords (three bass chords...). I hope it can help you to find the right way

    Cheers... yolemafreux

  • xavier rudd !! go

  • WOW! This is awesome. I have to say your really talented

    Have you taken vocal lessons?

fyi this is one of my favorite songs, very catchy

  • Hi dude ! Have you seen that it's the LIVE version i'm trying to play ? Not sure at all...

    Yeah I know it's a bit repetitive...

    Anyway thanks for comment !

  • Pretty poor dude. Terrible tone for sure. Not very well played at all

  • No. Like I mentionned in description of the vid, I'm tuned this way : CGCCGC. But classic open C (CGCGCE) can works too for almost same result if you don't play the E string.
