There is an easier method.
1.applications->add/remove.
U2.p the top there is a drop down box, change the setting to all open source applications
3. Wine should be listed =]

I have 10.10v and when i try to execute a .exe file i get this

am Files/WeGame/wegame.exe' is not marked as executable. If this was downloaded or copied from an untrusted source, it may be dangerous to run. For more details, read about the executable bit. i go to properties but i cant mark it pls help for NOOB here

update; for ubuntu 10.10 go to application,
ubuntu software center,
type wine on the search bar.
click install.

i need help too im new to ubuntu ive tried installing wine and have gotten to the step where i have to go to the authentication tap and import key file but when i click import key file the software sources window closes please help
