Part one of Jennifer Harbury's speech for the Lehigh-Pocono Committee of Concern (LEPOCO) Annual Dinner where she talks about the history of U.S. involvement in torture from Guatemala to Abu Ghraib. Ms. Harbury is a human rights activist and lawyer who wrote about her own first hand experiences and those of her husband in the book "Searching for Everardo: A Story of Love, War, and the CIA in Guatemala". She is also the author of "Truth, Torture, and the American Way: The History and Consequences of U.S. Involvement in Torture".

    GITMO is now a torture & mind control training center, supplying terrorists to be released into the wild to kill us, so that the War OF Terror, will go on, and on, and on, forever.

  • If some state tortures people in your village they may gain information ,some of it may actually stop more killing.but it will certainly turn more people against the state.I would support torture if it worked.but the facts suggests it intensifies divisions
