  • Why Have I never heard this man before??? I thought I was a country fan but somehow I have a gap in my education. Thanks for posting.

  • @delora33 Oh I'm sure you have at least heard some of the songs he has written. Two that quickly come to mind are "I Can't Stop Loving You" made popular by Ray Charles and "Faded Love" which was a hit for Patsy Cline. I just noticed Don as a solo artist charted 70 songs over his own singing career.

"Oh Lonesome Me" - "Blue, Blue Day" - "Sea of Heartbreak" - the list goes on and on! :)

  • @MisterHuskey Bob Wills wrote Faded Love. You are probably thinking about Sweet Dreams written by Don Gibson and made popular by Patsy Cline. Besides that I agree with your post.

  • @fridrikur You are absolutely correct! I need to start proofreading my own comments! I can't believe I wrote that...lol Whoops! :)

  • This was my all-time favorite song a couple of hundred years ago!!! Thank You for the memories...and the quality of work you do.

  • @TheARosemary You are more than welcome TheARosemary! :-)

  • @MisterHuskey Hi, thanks so much for jogging my memory. I now know why I don't know this man's voice, I know all the songs you mentioned but by other artists. I didn't hear any country songs for a long time and unfortunetly, missed some great music. Thank you Mr.Husky. PS, you any kin to Verlon?)))

  • Don Gibson - - - Whatever he sang -no matter what the song- he sang with heart. Indeed a legend in country music. Thanks for sharing!

  • @mrtwang32 No problem MrTwang! :-)

  • A unique, soulful singer was he. Thanks for posting.
