One so young... so changed
Should not be left alone
Two... in love... should confess
And not be left alone

I will run to you
Down whatever road you choose
I will follow you down
I will run to you

You've had time... come around
Will you please make up your mind
I... stand accused... on trial
Will you please make up your mind

I will run to you
Down whatever road you choose
I will follow you down
I will run to you

Make it easy for me
I been lonely baby
Show some mercy honey
I was nothing
All those lonely nights
Showed me something
If you need me
I'll come runnin'

I will run to you
Down whatever road you choose
I will follow you down
I will run to you

  • Have they ever dated ???

  • @BrunoLeBoss It's debated, I personally think they had a minor fling in 80 or 81. Hence If You Were My Love and Outside the Rain, just my opinion though. I think more than anything they are just really good friends that care a lot for each other, which could have been sparked by a short relationship.

  • @userfriendlynewmodel I agree with you, I think her song "Kind of Woman" is for Tom. I remember hearing her say in an interview that that song is about her wanting someone that was married and had children and how guilty she felt if caused other people hurt. It also was on her Belladonna album in 81.

  • @PrettiGirl55 Could be! thanks for info, never knew her words on the song.

  • No.He was married at the time.He and his wife did split up but it was 15 years after he played with Stevie. She was dating producer Jimmy Iovine at the time they worked together.Jimmy produced both Tom and Stevie.

  • @BobReidy Because Stevie has never fooled around with a married man? LOL.

  • Has any of this got anything to do with the music?

  • @userfriendlynewmodel Actually, I'm backing up @BobReidy She did date Jimmy Iovine for quite a while in 80-81 etc. Tom refers to her as a "Heartbreaker" and "Our little sister." I'm not saying they never got under the influence and did it or anything, but I don't think there was any kind of "affair" there.

  • Women and Men can be friends people!

  • @BrunoLeBoss I don't think they ever dated for the simple reason Tom was married. They are just good friends!

  • rock child petty..great guy and talent!

  • a sexy modern day love song, life is tough, but we make it more difficult than it should be, neverthe less, happy birthday to mr tom petty! and stevies the lovely lady of rock!

  • Nope, just close friends. Stevie Nicks was a huge fan of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers and told him she wanted to leave Fleetwood Mac and join the band, Tom said "well you can be our friend, but you cant be in the band" , then she asked him repeatedly for a song for her first solo record, he eventually gave her "Stop Draggin My Heart Around" which he had written for one of his own albums but it didnt make it on the album, so he gave it to her. .same thing with this one, was already written
