I had my book center next to my housekeeping one time, and it worked out well. I had them separated, but right next to them, and the children used the book center as a living room.

What's that frog thing?

@loriel210 Yep! We put our library area in with the house area and created a living room - with the book shelf next to the couch. There is a small area with a cozy bean bag for children who wish to quietly read alone.

The library should be kept in a quiet place for those children who want to read; it is ok, to add books in each center, keep in mind, but the library still needs to be separate.

Thank you for sharing this. :)
old school would have the book center separate, but when you think about it you want it where the children are most likely to use it and that is close to the dramatic play area where they can read to the baby dolls back about 20 years ago we were taught to separate books from other centers not anymore especially with the highscope curriculum
