I show you how to turn off the User Account Control (UAC).

Note: UAC keeps you from doing anything that could potentially corrupt your computer.

  • im locked out of installing things. it says to type in a password and click ok,but theres no type in box and i cant click ok. so basically im locked out of doing basically everything such as installing programs, running them, etc. can anyone help?

  • are you an administrator on the computer or did someone set ur account to be limited (that can only be done if there are multiple accounts on the computer)... because if you are a limited account u need admin permission to install anything

  • You need to Be administrator to do that... Pointless..

  • I am administrator... thats why it worked for me.

  • nice vid, thanks. just 1 question though when ever i start my computer i get a bubble saying the uac has been changed, its annoying because it keeps coming up each time

  • i fixed it :d thanks though.

  • That's probably because it NEEDS Uac to function. There is so much more to UAC than just a prompt.

It provides application compatibility, and security, as well as elevation.

  • is there a way to turn off UAC for a certain program because i downloaded something i use and it shows a little security shield thing next to it and every time i open it i get the UAC that asks me to continue or not
