@greggles12345 Hey, I recently bought one of these and recorded with it. Would have looked great if I had rendered it properly. im also havin trouble keepin image quality while also trinyg to lower the filesize. Under what settings on sony vegas do you render your vids?

I have the same camera, just had a couple of questions if you don't mind:
do you convert the .mts file to something else, if so what do you use to convert?
also, what did you use to edit this video?

No worries.
I don't convert the .mts files - to be honest I haven't played around with them at all (at least I don't think I have) purely because I haven't studied what they are. I just use the files in the AVCHD format.
This video was edited using imovie on an Apple Mac. My more recent videos were edited using Sony Vegas Pro 9.
