In this video I'd like to show you how to create breakbeats with the Roland Fantom-G. I take a drum'n'bass loop and manually select several portions of it that get assigned to a sample set on the keyboard. This technique can be applied to any sort of phrase loops to create variations and remixes on the fly.

  • why are you manually doing this... isn't there an auto-chop feature. ?

  • I mentioned in the video that yes, you can do automatic chopping, but here I do it manually as I want total control on which piece to select.

  • You can't move the start/end markers but you can use the mouse to drag the start/end parameter values.
