Earl Manigault was born in Charleston, South Carolina, and raised in Harlem, New York. He grew up playing basketball and practiced constantly. Manigault set the NYC junior high school record by scoring 57 points in a game in the late 1950s. While attending Benjamin Franklin High School, Manigault's life took a fateful turn when he began associating with the wrong crowd. He started using drugs and skipping classes. He was the star of his high school team and seemed destined for greatness in the National Basketball Association. Manigault was eventually kicked out of school after being caught smoking marijuana. He finished high school at a private academy, Laurinburg Institute North Carolina.

  • lol'n at that rotary phone lol

  • sad he didn't make it into the nba, he would be in the hall of fame by now.

  • @BegForMercy111 We had advisers go over in the early 60's. The Marines landed in 65' in which the first officially battle after US involvement. The battle of Da Nang.

  • @StonewallJackson26 Actually believe it or not the US was sending troops to Vietnam long before that. Quite a few Soldiers who fought in WW2 were being sent over, starting in the early 1950s. I was told by one of my teachers who fought in WW2 and had friends go to Vietnam during that time period.

  • Wait wait wait. Earl was born in 1944, and in this scene, he is portrayed as a Senior in high school, debating on whether he will go to College, so Earl is 18 here. That would make the setting of this scene sometime in 1962. We didn't start sending Americans to Vietnam until 1965. Earl was 21, when the Vietnam War officially started. So I don't know how his friend is going to Nam yet. This scene doesn't make sense.

  • Colleges were throwing themselves at manigault.....this lucky muthafucka smh.

  • @northmeck09 haha its True!!!
