@ImmaNumber18 Officially, Sonic CD takes place after Sonic 4: Episode 1, or, at the very least, after Sonic 3. Tails was in Sonic CD, actually, he was flying the Tornado around Little Planet the whole time. If you know where to look, you can see.
It's not the first time a game made later is meant to happen before. For instance, Tails' Adventure happens before Sonic 1.
