  • Very nice, I will never forget those twin rotating lights of the 1011-1/100. Totally unmistakebale at night! I would love to have seen this without the background music, to hear the wonderful sounds of the RB211-22b!

  • Ok! I found an other L1011 with RB211-22b sound. Please check my new upload video.

    Thanks.

  • the musis is so...oh make me sad, Tristar, among the best airplane ever builts. Long live tristar

  • I think so.

Thank you for your seeing my video.

  • I miss the days when there were MORE than just 2 major airline manufacturers.

  • man, it' a shame Lockheed bowed out of the commercial aircraft business. The Tristar was a great success & failure all at the same time. I wonder how many are headed to museums.

  • I graduated TWA Breech Academy MCI early summer 1976, based in JFK International Terminal 5, Hangar 12, language qualified in Spanish & Portuguese.

I was FAA certified on CV880,DC-9, B707,B727,B747, B767 & L1011. Flew mainly TW 900/901 JFK-LIS-JFK, TW904/905 JFK/MAD/JFK and according to season the aircrafts would be the B747-100/200 or L1011 and the Lockheed L1011 remains my favorite aircraft to work or travel, in my book it will always be "THE QUEEN OF THE SKY"

  • wow!i missd those plane they were my favorite and,i wish if they were still around!

  • @nuwanthevampire Plus the bankruptcy of Rolls Royce too....

  • Was this one video taped at Nagasaki International Airport ?

  • I could do with out the

    stupid musical interpretation..

  • Try star was the A 380 of 70s..So bad lockheed didnt make any commercial jets after that..If they kept modifying this jet like boeing did to its 737 and 747..boy im pretty damm sure this bird will be still ruling the skies..The main reason for its failure was it had too many systems for safty..that made maintenance expensive and the engines the used weren't upgraded..so they kept consuming a lot of fuel..

  • man you are so right... when i was young i used to look up and see those twin lights shining in glory in the night sky. All of the other lights on other aircraft were just the same ol blink blink blink.. but this bird.. the 1011 was different.. thats why i loved her so much. I miss that jet so :=(
