  • Who's the guy at 6:28?

And for those of us who don't know, what is a demo?

  • @Nannirk at 6:28 is cTrix !!!! I guess the simplest way to describe a demo is this... A "demonstration" of skills and computer programming, containing graphics and sound. At the end of this video.. you can see some demos....

  • @oxyg3nst4r Alright, that's what I thought. I've heard it loosely mentioned several times.

    It's pretty cool.

Anyway, what would a beginner in 8 bit music need to start composing and recording? Just the basics I mean. I doubt I could modify my GameBoy, but if a cartridge and some software is enough, I might be able to do something fun with it.

  • @Nannirk Well, if you have a gameboy and want to go that route.. all you need is the LSDJ cart or NANOLOOP. But, you can just down load the program FAMITRACKER, which is free and to get you started. It's pretty good with NES emulation. And later what you make in FAMITRACKER can be played back on an actual nintendo via the POWERPAK. Hope that helps !!!

  • Fucking sick cTrix track as usual

  • @kikencorp EVERYONE WAS SICK YA DINGUS !

  • @oxyg3nst4r Oh nice. Thanks! :-)

  • also i'm one of the #mod_shrine folks who haven't gone to a single demo party, mostly for locational (new zealand, anybody?) / situational (living at home, anybody?) reasons; hence, why you've probably never heard of me.

  • VOTE MADBRAIN

also that really perlin-noisy / stuttery demo could have done with an explosion at the end of it (watched that on the stream), fortunately computer candy overload made up for that.

  • @oxyg3nst4r caught a cold or something? :P
