For a Speed Duel (condensed version of the regular game) you are permitted to scan 3 Main Deck cards and 3 Extra Deck cards before starting the match. In addition, you can scan any Main Deck card you want when you activate a Destiny Draw on your turn.

For an Action Duel, you can scan any Normal or Effect Monster for your 3-man team. In addition, when you activate an "EX Summon" by filling a meter, you can summon a Fusion, Synchro or Exceed for a super move.
