ALMOST ENTERTAINMENT a Canadian half hour pilot stars STRANGERS WITH CANDY'S Maria Thayer, some people from Toronto's Second City and an early appearance by musician FEIST. This is the trailer to a pilot that no one will ever see. It was made 2 yrs prior to Studio 60 and 30 Rock but no one wanted it then. It was almost made with Steve Coogan's Baby Cow in the UK but the producers were unable to get a Canadian broadcaster. For a recent article on the show and the filmmaker, go to: http://www.canada.com/nationalpost/news/artslife/story.html?id=48b86922-3177-...
I'm a comedy writer/performer in the UK. Work on a show called PeepShow. And I thought this looked fantastic. Had a nice 'real' quality to it. Something lacking in shows like 30 Rock. Is it getting made??

It was quite cute. Liked some of the bits towards the end.

I don't know... I know it's a pilot, but it seems really low-budget (it's a bit dark), and the timing is a bit off, even in the funny middle school sketch. Could use better editing.
It's not like I dislike humor from the Great North. I like "An American in Canada."

I'm funnier than that even in the first five minutes that I wake up in the morning. Also, those little captions are quite juvenile and depressing.

you should get a copy of the actual pilot and post it.

shame, that did look awesome.

That looked really cool. "The Underdogs Will Rise" was a little ironic.
