hello , i've been playin, for 3to 4 years would, you point me in the right direction to learn to solo, like a loop station help me. i've know my scale's but when soloing do you play every note in a give scale or does it really matter? thanks for the input if you would.

Is it absolutely necessary to tune down a half step?

For this lesson, since I'm not using any open strings, you can simply move everything you're playing down one fret from where I'm at on the fretboard. However if you're using strings that are .11 or higher, tuning down is a good idea for stress relief on the guitar neck.
