We all know about "The William Tell Overture", but the Lone Ranger also has an actual theme song, complete with lyrics. It's called "Hi-Yo Silver", and was written by Lenny Adelson and Les Baxter for the movie "The Lone Ranger and the Lost City of Gold". The song tells the origin story of the Lone Ranger.

Actually this song was written for the second color feature, Lone Ranger and the City of Gold (1958) with Clayton Moore and Jay Silverhills.

I know that. In fact, I took this video from the "The Lone Ranger and the Lost City of Gold" DVD. Now that you point it out, though, my original writeup does seem to imply by that the Lone Ranger had this song all along. I'll edit it.

Can you please tell me how I can get a copy of the color movie "Enter The Lone Ranger" from 1949? It was broadcast on CoziTV recently but I cannot find it anywhere.

"Enter The Lone Ranger" is from 1949, but it's a black and white television episode, not a movie, nor in color. As it is the first episode of "The lone Ranger", it is common for it to be edited together with two other episodes and presented as a movie, however. There may be a colorized version of some sort, but I haven't seen it.

It's easy to find. Just google "Enter the Lone Ranger", and you should find links to it on Archive.org, Youtube, etc. You can also find a bunch of other episodes.

That is not what I am speaking of. This movie, which was clearly in color, was recently broadcast on CoziTV. It is a full length movie put out by Warner Bros., or least they own it now. That is what I'm trying to find.

The movie this song was taken from is "The Lone Ranger and the Lost City of Gold", one of two color Lone Ranger movies, the other being "The Lone Ranger Thunders to the Motion Picture Screen" (often shortened simply to "The Lone Ranger". You can find both of these movies for very affordable prices (about $2 + shipping) on Amazon, and can probably find them cheap in other places as well. Just google these two titles:

    "The Lone Ranger" (1956)

"The Lone Ranger and the Lost City Of Gold"

In the 1970s, the two Lone Ranger features and 39 color episodes were packaged in syndication as "The Lone Ranger Movies." By putting three color episodes together, they made a "movie," making 13 movies plus the two features. The "Hi-Yo Silver Away" song sequence was used at the beginning of the manufactured movies, segueing into the theme song.

I did find it. Today at the mall. Confusion regarding the title is what the problem was.
