  • You are quite right, Unfortunately I don't have a 5 volt dc - dc converter.

    I used the inverter primarily out of convenience.

  • Would be interesting to see how a large load acts on that setup, those inverters are normally rated for things like laptops to charge effectively

  • since the pocket pc and amplified speakers have adapters that change it back to dc again, why not skip the inverter?

    A dc-dc eg cigarette lighter adapter would be much more effecient than changing dc-ac-dc again.
