This is a camera/lighting test we did for the soon-to-be-shot short film, "Tight", about two men who wake up and realize that they've been entombed alive inside a grungy wooden box. The first half was shot with a Canon XL2 with a 35mm adapter and lens on it. The second half was shot with a Panasonic HVX HD camera. This was just to test the light on the two cameras and nothing else. So don't look at this and judge the acting, camera moves, etc., because we didn't even try on those elements.

  • I liked the XL2 image. What did you go with and have you finished the production?

  • Haven't actually started filming yet. My little girl was born 3 days ago, so I've been a bit busy, but I hope to film late November. We'll probably go with the XL2. It provides a grittier, grainier image.
