This (Part 2 of 2) of some gameplay from the game Pixeljunk Eden on Playstation 3.

The game has a really cool feature where it can record itself and upload the footage to youtube. Neato.

This game is sooo relaxing and fun haha. It is pretty simple. Your goal is to collect "Spectra" In this particular level I have to collect 5 of them to pass the level.

To get to these Spectra you have to break open flowers which releases their pollen. When you touch the pollen it will then start to fertilize nearby seeds. Once enough pollen has been collected for the seeds, touching the seed will result in the growth of a new plant. This allows you to get further in the level and closer to collecting spectra.

You also have this little bar at the bottom left that is gradually decreasing. So as you play you have to collect crystals (I think the game called them crystals) to keep that bar from emptying. If the bar becomes empty you fail the level.

As you can see in the video, your little character can jump from plant to plant, but he can also swing from a thread type of thing. You can only swing on each thread for a few circles before they snap, so you learn to time the swings right to collect the most pollen.

Also, when you are swinging on a thread, a little circle will flash around your character when you are facing the direction of the nearest spectra. This is how you are able to seek them out when you cannot see them.

This game also has some pretty nice music.

Overall I am really enjoying this game so far.

There are also occasional enemies. You can kill them, but they can also bump you so you fall all the way from the top of the level which can be very annoying.

This game was originally released as a downloadable only title on the playstation network, but it was released in asia on a disc with Pixeljunk's other games Pixeljunk racers and Pixeljunk Monsters. The disc is called "PixelJunk 3 in 1 Pack".

Why did I bother importing a physical copy of these games when I could just download them from PSN? Well, I am against the idea of all my gaming turning into digital downloads. I like having a real physical copy of my game that will last in the long term, so I do not purchase online only games no matter how nice the game may be. Since PixelJunk was cool enough to release there games on a disc in Korea, I do not have to miss out on these awesome games.

Also, the game has a Korean manual and game case, but the game has english text, so there is no problems in playing it. I got it off ebay for about 35 dollars.

  • A very interesting game. So this is an actual game you get in stores or an online thing?

  • @stufaman In the usa this wasn't released on a disc for ps3, but overseas it was. I am playing this on an imported disc copy from I think Korea or Japan. The disc included this game as well as 2 other pixeljunk games. The disc is called "Pixeljunk 3 in 1 Pack".

  • @Lazyhoboguy Cool. I confess, I am a Wii only owner (well every machine before it too). That Child Of Eden game really made me want a HD console over any other game. Then I saw this gem too. PS3 is winning now for my decision.

  • The little guy swinging off stuff reminds me of Worms
