I return to my roots on this one, This is a wonderful Mariah song.
Sometimes I think we forget that this story didn't just impact Ennis and Jacks lives, but the other people that their lives touched as well.
Alma gave all her love, her soul to a man whos heart was already taken.

Alma was my favorite character.
She stood quiet as the love of her life betrayed her and lied to her behind her back.
She took care of their children regardless...
She is truly a wonder of a woman. I'm glad she eventually marries again and finds a man who treats her with respect.
Ennis and Jack's story is sad, yeah, but I think Alma's is far sadder... at least hers has a happy ending though.

There is pretty much two sides to this story. Jack and Alma, and people say Ennis was gay, he was for jack but that was love, Jack was the on that was really gay with the prostitutes and such, and with Alma I really believe he did love her of course, he was the mother of his children. Obviously he was stuck between two hard spot and you could really tell he refused to leave his children for Jack when Jack asked.

I don't have any pity for Alma, she just keeps Ennis away from Jack, but she's a more likeable person than Lureen.
