Moscow's famous metro system has banned homeless people and drunks as part of sweeping reforms to modernise it. One of the world's largest public transport systems, its also aiming to improve access for disabled people and bring more order to the bustling underground world.

  • Mm, banning homeless folks is a bit iffy. Yeah, the disgusting ones and violent ones should be isolated, but overall, people who sleep rough aren't doing any harm and should be left alone. Improving access for people with disabilities is a very good idea, and it generally improves access for everybody else, too.

  • san francisco is much worse as far as homeless people go. When I have been in Moscow there are not nearly so many homeless. The question is where do they go once they are moved out of the metro?
