Former CNN anchor Veronica De La Cruz ( http://veronicadelacruzonline.com ) concludes her story of losing her brother, Eric, without insurance, and challenges the audience in the park and all of us to support health care reform. She asks, "Why is the health of our nation big business?" Video clip is one of a series of the Sept. 3, 2009 Organizing for America ( http://barackobama.com ) event in Los Angeles shot by Doug Drenkow ( http://douglasdrenkow.com ), reporting for OpEdNews ( http://opednews.com ).
This is a terrible tragedy that plays out all to often in America. This is an example of a family who are good Americans that were snubbed when they needed help. We protect illegal imigrants more that we do actual citizens. This family went through all the necessary channels to save their loved one, to no avail. The courage and grace that she shows in her speech is a testament to how honorable her family is. I wonder how many insurance people went bankrupt because of sickness.

I think what Veronica is doing is very brave and touching. Everyone should stand strong behind here and continue to support health care reform. By the way, I don't even live in America
