The Qur'an is no different than the bible, it is just as corrupt - it was composed after Mohammed's death by order of the power hungry Caliphs, composed from "memory" - how convenient. Where is the proof that Mohammed or an angel spoke the words?? There is none. Islam like all god-based religions is based on second hand stories, myths & lies. Fairy tales for children. Buddhism is much better - no god, only compassion, peace and personal development.

Is it compassion shown by the Buddhists of Burma on the Muslims? Or is it peace?

...So how did we go from leading the world, to taking a back seat? In WW1 the West dismantled the last Muslim Empire, The Ottoman Empire, the Caliphate. In the late 1800s, there was only approx 1-3 Muslim nations not under Western rule. You destroyed us, & now claim we destroyed ourselves. Take my country for example, Pakistan, which along with India, made India. India was the richest country in the world until Britain invaded.

...Look at the hypocrisy of the west, they support rebels in Libya & Syria, but bomb them in Mali. Let's not forget the old Christian ''West'' which sunk Europe into the Middle Ages. At that time, whilst the West weren't conquering our lands, we gave you the Golden Age of which echoes till today. The Muslim Golden Age shaped the modern world....

Why is the Christian West great & Muslim Middle East bad? How does that define what religion is best. For example most of this conflict is political. It is about resources, economics, etc. Religion is the face, allegedly. The suffering may lie in the East but it is caused by the west. For example, whilst Saddam persecuted his people, & invaded Iran, the US supported him. US puppet springs to mind. Look at the unjust & illegal wars in Iraq & Afghanistan, etc....

One Final clarification: I never said I "hate" muslims - I merely questioned a belief. Questioning something does not equal hatred.

I am not here to cause strife, I simply stand up against blind fanaticism wherever I find it. If Islam is so great, why are all the regions where it predominates filled with strife & violence? Whereas the Christian West has peace, wealth and a civil society? The reason: the idea that there is only One right way to live leads to strife. Because it is a lie. Countries where tolerance & freedom are practiced, have peace. This is my last comment. Bye.

Learning from memory allowed no corruption to happen within the Quran. If a single word was altered, people would know. Your underestimating the level of learning from memory in these times. It is also a tradition held till today by many Muslims. For example, if the non-Muslims gathered up all the Qurans & burnt them (God forbid), then the Muslims would simply get back together & rewrite the Quran exactly word for word!...

...A better example would be short hand writing without vowels. For example 'mn'. This can now be either 'man' or 'men'. Utham (RA) inserted the correct vowels.

...Thus burning the Qurans that didn't have the right dialect, therefore having the ability to misguide. Funny thing about this ridiculous claim is that, no one, no arab Christian, no non-arab, spoke out against it, meaning everyone agreed. Only in the modern world do people disagree....

...For example, in the language we both speak, English, the word 'read' is spelt the same for past & present. In a sentence, English native people, like you & me, know in which context this 'read' is, whether it is past or present, but non-English speaking people won't. It's like Uthman (RA) rightly corrected this....
