<3 Im 17 years old..its 2012..Apparently this guy has been around for a very long time, and obviously I'm young and have not been..but for some reason I feel connected to this man through his music.. threw his words of honesty and purity. I could listen to him forever. My parents are gone and have been a very long time but I'm still thankful for the time I have been able to spend with them. And "I don't know where I'm going.." but I know just by listening to this man everything will be ok. <3

I first heard this song when I was 17 and wrestling with my call to leave home. 40 years later it still stirs the same emotions and angst especially after hearing the same words from my grown children. This song just doesn't age.

Oh my heart...I am "the mama". I know you have to go, but I know that I will always miss you when you're not here. Looking forward to sharing some of the same sunrises again...

This song is incredible beyond words. Sometimes an artist will write a song that has such a profound effect on people and this is one of those songs. I only wish people wrote songs of this caliber today. Tom's voice is one of those voices that is so good and I could listen to him for hours. It is this type of song---a song that really makes you think about things.

Leaving home is something u have to do when you really realize u're growing.

O boy does this bring back memories. Tom Rush and Murray McLaughlin were two of my favorites.

What a treasure.
I saw him in concert just weeks before graduating high school--he sang this song. Ripped my heart out and has haunted me ever since. Standing on the precipice of ending most everything known to me, ready to step into a new life. How incredibly perfectly the words captured the excitement and trepidation of the time.
I just saw him on TV singing The Remember Song--the first I've heard of him in 35 yrs and I had to find this song.
Whoever put this up, I cannot thank you enough.
