This is Taiwan's first album that combines music (by Chen-chen Ho), Illustrations (by Ah
Wen) and literary writing (by Nelly). This is also an illustrated book that tells a fantasy story for both kids and adults. Melodies, pictures and words interweave magically to bring out various loving themes such as the loss of the beloved, spiritual growth and reunion with family. The journey of the heroine Guo Guo is also your quest of love and faith. Her wishes are also your wishes for true communication, warmth and healing.
The ten-year-old girl Guo Guo lived in a suburb hill. The other end of the hill is sea. Her family owned a big orange orchard. Guo Guo loved oranges. She and her only brother had invented many new ways to enjoy oranges. One of them was to heat up an orange and to make a hole on it. Holding the warm orange and sipping the sweet and sour juice was really delightful. The "Guo Guo" sound of sipping the juice was the origin of her nick name. On day, Guo Guo's elder brother died of an accident! She never heated up any oranges ever since. All her father and mother did was fighting. This made Guo Guo even more silent, though silence could not ease the pain of missing her only brother. And there was a time when anger replaced the sadness-Guo Guo left home secretly with a bag of oranges. The journey began with a fantastic encounter with a cat. The cat made three wishes for her...
