A motivational video to inspire those who have been stigmatized by mental illness.
Music- "Why" By: Rascal Flatts I DO NOT OWN COPYRIGHT. I used this song purely because it has relevance to the topic.

Please, feel free to use or post my video where you wish, but please send me a message letting me know where it is posted! I love to know who I'm helping by having you broadcast this video! It really touches me! Thanks!

  • what is the defenition of the word "stigma" sorry english not my first language?????

  • @xSimplyAmusedx The actual definition is "a distinguishing personal trait that is perceived as or actually is physically, socially, or psychologically disadvantageous." Let me know if you need help with this definition :)

  • Was this supposed to be academic work?? No references, no citations...pretty shoddy and ineffectual.

  • @MrGrevy It was academic work but it wasn't supposed to have citations or references it was for a capstone, summing up a topic I was passionate about and creating something aimed to motivate others. Sorry you feel this way, but I have had only positive feedback about this video thus far.

  • So touched by all the views that my video has received. If I have inspired but one life, then my purpose in creating this has been fulfilled.

  • it is such an inspiring vedio, touching song as well!

May I ask for your permision to use it as an ending of my presentation in my calss, I am a mental health nurse!! Thank you!!

  • Thankyou for sharing.. Beautiful video, and choice of music.. and a message that everyone needs to hear.

  • Complain about "stigma" all you like; but facts are stubborn things.

There will NEVER come a day when "out of the closet" mentally ill people can become police officers, serve in the military, become explosives specialists, airline pilots, OR astronauts just to name a few. Any potentially dangerous/highly responsible job will forever be closed to the mentally ill. Also, hunting, owning firearms ect. will always be forbidden to the mentally ill. So... get used to "stigma", it ain't going away!

  • I struggle with Stimga daily. This is beautiful way of expressing the struggle those of us like myself a "bi-polar one" suffer and others with different mental health issues face in the lifes due to the ignorance of others.

  • I will post this video on my site. Thanks for sharing.

  • It would be easier to challenge stigma related to mental illness if more people were aware of its effects. People often regard it is weakness of character, laziness or a joke.

So its not just the mentally ill who need to accept your challenge but also non-sufferers who should challenge themselves to re-think their prejudices.
