    The bell ringing of Mahler is amazing,I like very much too.The M4 uses very much the bell sound.

  • Yes, we heard the same thing! And for me, the beginning reminds me of the light-'Lebhaft' reminds me a little of Mahler with the moments you have described. Pretty odd, Rachmaninoff could write stuff like Mahler!

  • Thank you. This is my very first Paganini Rhapsody I heard. I quite enjoy it; sounds a lot like airy Mahler plus light Rachmaninoff. (Yes, I know, for some reason, the feel sort of reminds me of the feel when I listen to Mahler 4th. Odd, some might say.)
