please please reply i downloaded the original 2.2.1 firmware but then a bunch of files show up and tell me to extract them to somewhere wat do i do???

Do not extract them! Do not use Safari either! Only use Firefox or Internet Explorer. Safari downloads the software bundle and immediately wants to extract the bundle. Re-download the firmware file, or IF YOU ARE USING A Mac, you can just go to the properties of the file and add the ".ipsw" extension to the file name.
