Supernatural Official Trailer - O Death

As fans of the show knows, at the end of Season 4 the Winchester boys had unwittingly unleashed, literally, Hell on Earth by releasing Lucifer from his prison. The entire season had the brothers trying to prevent just that, but alas, evil is apparently smarter than our Kansas heroes. So what awaits them now that the baddest demon of them all is on the loose?

- For one, producer/writer Sera Gamble says the apocalypse has not turned out to be as dark as I thought it would be. I am finding this apocalypse surprisingly amusing. We are having so much fun with it. Thats interesting. I thought the show would get much darker in Season 5, but apparently not?

- The angel Castiel will return, and will become hunted. He will once again join up with the Winchesters, and along the way, learn more about what it means to be human. No word on the angel Anna, Dean Winchesters heavenly booty call, though.

- The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse will appear — as muscle car riding badasses. Yup, this is Supernatural, after all. It aint your dads apocalypse.

- Lucifer will be played by Mark Pellegrino of Showtimes Dexter. Also, God himself will finally make an appearance on the show, though later in the season.

- In one of the episodes, Dean will get to see what the world is like five years in the future in the aftermath of the Apocalypse. Word is, Dean will spend a lot of time trying to prevent what hes seen from coming true. But as you know, in the world of Supernatural, what you want and what you are rarely the same thing.

- And finally, showrunner Eric Kripke always intended for the show to end after five seasons, and he doesnt plan to stretch out the Apocalypse storyline beyond Season 5, even if the show gets picked up by the CW for another year, which at this point isnt a sure thing. If the show does return for a Season 6, though, Kripke says he will definitely be back, which is something he initially said he wouldnt do back at Comic-Con, but has apparently changed his mind.

Supernatural Season 5 returns September 10, 2009 on the CW.

As well as being an really awesome show, SPN had really helped me. I've gone through some crap, but watching the show has provided me with another world to escape into. But not just that ... seeing all the crap the brothers have to deal with too has kinda put my life into perspective. Yes, they are fictional characters, and it's a fictional situation, but people in real life have huge burdens to bear, death of parents etc. Watching them depend on each other has encouraged me to do the same <3
