This seems to have been the era for complex bass lines - this and an equally amazing Hit Me had some bass playing that would kill lesser guitarists.

@MrBorsie: If you're thinking of "Rapper's Delight" it uses the instrumental of Chic - "Good Times" as backing track.

The music is just super - but the sound is a little crappy. The amplitude is moving up and down.

That's what YouTube converted the lo-fi video to. Add &fmt=18 at the end of the URL for stereo sound.
