In spite of Cullinane's rude comments that I received via e-mail, great video. In my personal American opinion, the greatest singer/songwriter of all time is Gordon Lightfoot. Every song he wrote told a story. In today's music world, story telling is a lost art. Most of today's "modern" music sucks including country which is about as country as New York city or Toronto.
@robtuohy1 Thanks dude. I loved Croce and Harry. Both died way too young. As for my favorite American songwriter.....hmmm. I've gotta think that one over. There is a guy playing in Syracuse in June who is still pretty butt kickin and still touring. Based on who you like so far, I'm going to go with James Taylor as the guy you think is the best. I'll get back to you on my favorite all time American songwriter.
@bobbo422 I love your comments here. You are one smart American guy for sure. I have a great DVD of Harry Chapin who I think is a fabulous and very underrated American songwriter who very much like Jim Croce died way too young and way before their time. I also have a few Jim Croce DVD's. Just curious, who is your favorite AMERICAN SINGER/SONGWRITER of all time? I have one particular American Artist who is still performing who I think is the absolute best! Can you guess who?
I've been over your way before. I worked at Pickering nukes for almost 5 years. 1997-2002. Lived in Ajax. If I didn't come home to Syracuse on a weekend, I always went cruising on Saturday. Loved all the small towns. HNIC was definitely the best as far as announcers back then. They got your head in the game very quickly.
@bobbo422 Hi friend, I live west of the city of Toronto in a city named ETOBICOKE. And yes, Dick Irvin was a great broadcaster. He used to introduce himself by saying "Well IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII'm Dick Irvin." He was a great broadcaster of Montreal Canadiens games for HNIC. Brian MacFarlane was also very good as was Dave Hodge (before the CBC fired him). Cheers, from Canada!
