@rabiddogblizzard1 dude i do kickboxing for 7 years + 1 year in judo when i was very little so trust me this is training for explosive punches
-
@TheAeroth you are talking about power training. Strenght = force = mass x acceleration which is different from power which is power = velocity / time or in other words power = (force * distance) / time. Thus this is not strength training and its not power training either since you should try to activate 100% of motor units in the shortest time for power training. Hence, powercleans, push presses, plyomentrics and snatches are power training. What he is doing is endurance.

Lastly, if he is training for explosive power as you are trying to say even though you mistake power and strength as the same thing.
The best exercises for power which are also considered mandatory power exercises are Olympic Lifts.
Supplementary and unessential power exercises which are useful under certain circumstances are plyometrics and ballistics.
This rubber band crap can also be included in that somewhat useful but not essential exercise group.
But it isnt is strength training.

If you are training for strength, you lift a heavy weight generally above 80% of your 1 rep max (70% is acceptable).
Now the greater the weight the greater the Mass hence thats covered.
As for acceleration, you do reps as fast as possible to recruit as many motor units as possible and that covers acceleration.
Thus that is strength training and you can measure your strength gains and see improvements in strength weekly.
This video on the other hand has nothing to do with strength.

yes Strength is Force = Mass x Acceleration and Power = Force x Distance / Time but
what you are saying about increasing explosive power is not the same as increasing strength. You get the 2 mixed up.
To increase power in a punch you can either increase Force or Reduce Time (ie increase speed).
-
@rabiddogblizzard1 strenght in kickbox is not how much you can lift is about explozion of the punch.
Force is mass + acceleration. He is training the acceleration there, the explotion of the punch so yes this is a strenght training.
p.s. sorry for bad english

How is this strength training? All he does is use bands and doa million reps with a light weight. His strength gains on this routine must be pathetic.

@babaklas and that's why you are a fag and he is a world champion....
