Replacing the water pump on a 1998 Ford Taurus with the standard 3.0l OHV V6. After 228,000 miles, I'm replacing the water pump because the engine doesn't maintain the proper running temperature.

  • Does this 1998 Ford Taurus Water Pump Replacement work for a 2002 Ford Taurus

  • @cardolthe; I think it would. I don't think there is very much difference in the years as far as how the water pump is assembled to the engine.

  • why was the steering pump making all that noise? does it stop after the car warms up or do u have to fix it?

  • @mamas4turd4sniffer; it did that because I forgot to put power steering fluid back in it, and got some air in the system. After I put fluid in it and let it run, it bled itself and quit making noise.
