This was perhaps my third video made in Final Cut Express, created a few weeks after first installing the software. It is flawed (I still didn't understand many of the features--hey, I still don't!) but I think this shows that newbies can use Final Cut Express without too much experience.

Patch of Blue theme was played on the old KSAN radio (San Francisco) at midnight for the night show(s). Alone in the fog on a cool summer night, it just made sense to hear this haunting melody.

So lovely, again breaking my heart (I'm a softy). With your clips and your music choice you are able to take the viewer somewhere they might not want to go emotionally, but the music flows, and those little percussion moments just tap at the heart. That said, you still make it safe, no bonking over the head with what you are trying to show us. It's wonderful. Your style is unique and refreshing in a sea of standard fan video. Sorry about the long description...you know what I am like. :)

When I was a teenager, the soundtrack from A Patch of Blue was better to make love to than Bolero. I have loved this music from the first time I heard it. I read that Jerry Goldsmith himself didn't really like it. Hard to believe, isn't it? One of these days I will buy the soundtrack again.
