A peptide bond is a chemical bond formed between two molecules when the carboxyl group of one molecule reacts with the amino group of the other molecule, releasing a molecule of water (H2O). the animation show the position and of amine , carboxile group and the radical of both aminoacids

  • This would be the opposite of hydrolysis - a condensation reaction or dehydration synthesis. It's an anabolic reaction that is the basis for complex protein synthesis out of simple amino acids such as Glycine, Lysine, and Glutamic Acid. Sometimes when I'm scared, I poop my pants.

  • the fact that there is electron pairing occurring in the peptide bond make it very sturdy, and limits all rotation / movement. yay science!
