you still had the P switch cause you were holding the flattened Pswitch while you were going thhrought the pipe. if you do that, then it will make it come back.

I think you missed a box that's under the clouds, maybe use the green shell to open it

I think you need to take the spring with you. It looks like you can make a difficult jump at the beginning once you get Yoshi down there to get the spring. Yoshi might be able to bounce off of it to get to the pipe.
