Three fugitives from "The Canterbury Tales," members of the Vassar College Class of '56, recite Geoffrey Chaucer's "Holy Blissful Martyr" ... all » from The Canterbury Tales in the original Middle English. Humorist Hope Mihalap, winner of the prestigious Mark Twain Award, Dr. Kathleen Weil-Garris Brandt, Professor of Art History at NYU Fine Arts and Permanent Consultant for Renaissance Art to the Vatican Museum, and Mary Witham Webb, retired Boston investment banker, give a stellar performance not to be missed. Chaucer has never been more accessible!
I graduated from John Marshall High School in Milwaukee, 1968; we had to learn it in our senior year in advanced English and each student had to stand up and say it to the class. Of course we can still say it, and have gotten lots of entertainment mileage out of it!

Most hilarious thing I've heard on youtube:
Q: "And how did she know what the hell they called it then?"
A: "Oh, she lived in the middle ages!"
Bravo! - I really enjoyed hearing you ladies recite this together. I'm a student of Chaucer myself but have yet to learn that General Prologue! Perhaps this video will help get my in gear.
Take care,
David
