@newmexicoguy hey: thanks for the precise question and reply. i guess i could have gone to google maps but did not as i do not like google. there have been so few memorable title sequences in film that makes this one so memorable. racquel dances so beautifully-she is so graceful. a totally innovative film with an orignal idea. quite rare these days with all those cgi effects. you seem to know a great deal about film. cold here today in new mexico-your reply warmed me up.

Where the heck ist that???...I know Hollwood Blvd. but I don't know any building that come close to that where Raqual is dancing around...Is it torn down maybe?

not so great movie but the opening intro is so memorable and genuine to me. How Myron imagines himself as a beautiful woman dancing is awesome. I hope a director out there recreates this scene.

Probably the most "camp" movie to ever come from a major studio (in this case 20th Century Fox). Of course, it went way over the heads of most viewers when first released..including me (I saw it at a local drive in as a teenager in the early 70's). THANKS for posting this...a real time capsule!

It's too bad Sarne never read the book! This film stinks as much today as it did in 1970! Sorry, just pathetic and terrible.

I love it! The plot makes sense IF you watch it 12,456 times.

Surely, one of the strangest works to ever come out of Hollywood...
There are only a handful of films that truly capture the feel and atmosphere of Hollywood and the movie industry. SUNSET BLVD, THE BAD AND THE BEAUTIFUL and MYRA BRECKINRIDGE are the best examples. Always an underrated film, Myra is a masterpiece in it's way and a wonderful comedy. Directed as if it's a dream. Shame so many of the critics could not get past the rape scene in the film. Even to this day, that scene disturbs alot of people.

It's a great feel good intro. Thanks for posting. I like it when RAQUEL is turning and turning in the reflection of the glass to simulate the turning cowgirl on the billboard in the movie.
