Small Towns Big Dreams

Cannon County's United Way Kickoff campaign 2008-2009. Featuring Michael Burt, Jeran Tenpenny and Aaron Soloman at the Arts Center of Cannon County.

The Small Towns and Big Dreams event was a result of Cannon County native, Michael Burt, motovational speaker, championship coach and writer.

Speakers for the event included United Way Board Member Doug Combs, of WBRY, National Junior Beta Club Chaplain Jeran Tenpenny, WSMV morning news anchor and former Cannon Countian Aaron Solomon. Music from Far Cry is also featured.

More than 160 people were present for the fundraiser. Members of the Cannon County advisory council were recognized and include; Kim Davenport, Edd Diden, Mike Gannon, Lt. Brad Hall, Judge Susan Melton, Charlene Odom and Brian Woods. United Way of Rutherford and Cannon County board members Debbie Vaughn and Doug Combs along with campaign chairman Brian Hercules serve on the local council.

United Way provides funding to assist 47 groups and agencies, 29 of those provide services in Cannon County.
